Frequently Asked Questions

Epicare - Facial hair removal at your fingertips!

How does it work?
All you need to do is bend the spring into an inverted 'U', then rotate it in an inward and outward motion. The hair will catch in the spring and be removed by the roots.

What is it made of?
Epicare™ comprises of a spring made of specially coated hypo-allergenic alloy and high quality plastic handles on both ends.No batteries or electricity are required.

Is it safe and easy to use?
Epicare is very safe and easy to use. Unlike traditional threading (facial hair removed by using a thread) where the skin can tear, Epicare merely removes the hair and doesn't cut the skin. People with very sensitive skin may suffer a mild degree of skin sensitivity especially when they use it for the first time. With regular use this should subside.

Can I use it on my entire face?
Epicare is not designed to be used on eyebrows as it may catch and remove eyelashes. It is recommended for use on the upper lip, cheeks, chin and side-burns.

I am pregnant. Is it safe for me to use Epicare?
Yes. As Epicare doesn't involve any chemicals or wax or bleach, it is perfectly safe to use during pregnancy.

Is Epicare portable?
Absolutely! Epicare is so compact it can easily slip into your handbag.

Is it painful?
Some people don't find Epicare painful at all, while others may suffer differing degrees of discomfort. There is generally some discomfort as hair is being pulled from the roots (similar to that experienced while undergoing other methods of threading). The upper lip tends to be more sensitive than the chin on most people. However with regular use, and as you become more proficient with the device, you will feel less sensitivity.

Will the hair grow back and if so, how soon?
Yes, the hair will grow back. How soon it does will vary from person to person. On average hair will grow back within a week. What is so wonderful about Epicare is that you can use it as often as you like (some people use it every day), and you don't have to wait until the hair is long - as soon as it is slightly more than stubble Epicare can be used.

Is it cost effective?
Epicare is in a league of its own in this category! A trip to the beauty parlour is a costly exercise in both time and money. Most people find they need hair threading done fortnightly so the costs really start to add up. Depilatory creams and waxes for home use are also reasonably costly. An Epicare device will last for about 6 to 9 months before it may need to be replaced.

Can you get a rash from using Epicare?
Skin sensitivity varies from person to person. Some people can develop a rash.Using calamine lotion is an excellent way to soothe the skin after threading.

How do you clean Epicare?
To clean Epicare simply bend it like an inverted 'U' and shake off the trapped hair. Wipe with a clean dry cloth or tissue. Do not wash Epicare in water. Epicare is not waterproof and should be used on dry skin.
